HAT IS LI-FI, TECHNOLOGY THAT CHANGES PEOPLE REPLACE WIFI PART 2

WHAT IS LI-FI, TECHNOLOGY THAT CHANGES PEOPLE REPLACE WIFI

Technology is growing very rapidly indeed make us as a helpful user as well as sometimes made overwhelmed. Of the many technologies there may be some of them that have made us satisfied. But did you know that out there experts are still constantly innovating and developing existing technology. One of the technologies that are now being innovated is Wi-Fi.
Wi-Fi that we know as wireless technology for an internet network, may soon be changed. The results of experiments conducted by Oxford University and University College recently obtained a system result called Li-Fi, a technology in which light serves as a data delivery medium that can transfer data at speeds of up to 100 Gbps.

Speed that reaches many times faster than Wi-Fi is allegedly will be the latest wireless network technology that will replace Wi-Fi. Then what does this Li-Fi technology really mean? Here's the review.

What is Li-Fi?
Li-Fi itself is an acronym of Light Fidelity is a wireless network for communication systems that use light as the medium. And this technology no longer uses conventional radio frequency on Wi-Fi. The technology that can transfer data up to 100 Gbps has been successfully demonstrated on a pair of Casiosmartphones at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

How does Li-Fi Work?
To make this Li-Fi work, you need two light sources located on each end of the device. Light source that can be used is LED or photo detector (Light Sensor). When the LED light is on, the sensor light at the other end of the device will detect it and define it as binary 1.
Then what kind of data can be sent with this Li-Fi technology? In the amount of light of that particular LED, a message will be transmitted and then captured by the light detector on the other device
Furthermore, this Li-Fi technology will use some color on the LED light. If these colors are lit together then this will create a huge information building to be sent in one go.
Currently only with the use of green lasers and red lasers at the same time a data can be sent at a speed of 1 Gbps. What if this technology uses many colors? Of course the speed will reach many times over.

Why Li-Fi So Fast?
Li-Fi which has data rates many times compared with Wi-Fi is due to the type of LED which is a semiconductor have different properties than other types of lights. With these properties and traits the LEDs are able to switch on and off in a few nanoseconds or billions of seconds.
This nanodetic if converted in data rate equal to 1 Gbits / s. Therefore when Wi-Fi can only reach 100 Mbits / s data speed, then this means Li-Fi has a speed 10 times faster than Wi-Fi.

Advantages and Advantages of Li-Fi
The advantage of using Li-Fi is that it makes it easy for anyone to access the internet anywhere even in remote areas that can not be reached by optical cable. In addition Li-Fi can also be used to control traffic conditions by placing this new technology into car LEDs.
The same function can also be applied with overhead lights. Another advantage of Li-Fi technology is that it can reduce the electromagnetic pollution generated by radio waves.

Weaknesses and Li-Fi Challenges
Despite having many advantages Li-Fi technology also still has some disadvantages compared to conventional Wi-Fi system. Li-Fi that is applied in base station on the ceiling of this room requires direct line of sight or "view" directly to the destination device. Direct line this turned out to also have a special receiver , such as infra red connection on old gadgets .
In addition, this destination device must not be moved. From the current developments, Li-Fi technology also has many challenges, including the perfect line-of-sight to transmit data.Another major challenge is how to transmit data back to the transmitter optimally.
